MARGUERITE F. BAUER Niskayuna – Marguerite F. "Peg" Bauer passed away peacefully on December 22, 2018. She was born on December 6, 1921 in Troy, NY to Edward J. and Ruth M. (Scouler) Murphy and the wife of the late Charles C. Bauer. A lover of books, she was employed at the Troy Public Library and Guilderland Library, volunteered at the Whitney Bookstore, and was a member of the Friends of the Schenectady County Public Library. She also worked at the Desmond Hotel Gift Shop. She belonged to many organizations including the Lisha Kill and St. Paul's Seniors, Samaritan Hospital Auxillary, OLA Rosary Society and the Schenectady AOH Ladies Auxillary. Known as "Mimi", she will be greatly missed by her Grandchildren Jennifer (Jason) Miller, Rebecca (Scott) Grabicki, Meghan (Sean) Duhame, Catherine (Luke) Michaels, and James T. Bauer, Jr (Daro) of whom she is very proud. As Great Grandmother to Olivia, Jackson and Aidan Miller, Owen and Lochlan Grabicki, Liam, Connor and Niall Duhame, Ryan and Aubrey Michaels, and James Bauer III, she was a loving presence in their lives. She was happiest with family at the shore in New Jersey and at Long Lake in the Adirondacks. Her time with friends, especially Joseph Salvino, and nieces Debra, Nancy and Patty, added greatly to her life. She is survived by her sons Charles (Sally) of Niskayuna, and James (Jennie) of Latham, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters Ruth Johnson, Jane Bendon, and Grace Omelan and brothers George, Edward, James, John and Joseph, her life was always filled with family. A memorial service will be celebrated on January 12, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Road, Latham, NY with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating. .
