Obituary of Joan Sheehy
JOAN M. SHEEHY
Latham-Joan M. Sheehy, 87 of Colonie, formerly of Southern Drive Latham and beloved wife of the late John A. Sheehy, entered into eternal life on Tuesday December 4, 2018. .
Born and educated in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Wilkes) Bullock. Joan was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. She loved her family with all her heart and all of the time spent together at their camp in Northville. She was an avid painter and enjoyed card games with her friends.
Survivors include her 12 loving children Patricia (Mark) Belair, Deborah (Robert) Hanor, Kathleen Sheehy-Bulriss, Timothy (Shelly) Sheehy, Daniel (Jeannette) Sheehy, Colleen (Chuck) Tribley, Martin (Joann) Sheehy, Mary Lynn Sheehy, Matthew Sheehy, J. Robert (Julie) Sheehy, Meggan (Jack) Carey and Kristyn (Brian) Roberts, her 15 cherished grandchildren Christopher (Kerry) Belair, Sean (Megan) Belair, Matthew Bulriss, Benjamin Bulriss, Jennifer (Matthew) Grill, CJ (Amber) Tribley, Patrick Sheehy, John (Kristin) Sheehy, Michael (Erin Schweighauser) Sheehy, Kelsie (Jaclyn) Penney. Ashley (Michael) Prashaw, Courtney Carey, Reid Carey and Brendan Roberts, her 4 adored great-grandchildren, she is also survived by her sisters-in-law Jane Meehan, Ann Marie Sheehy and Dorthea Bullock. Joan is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her grandson Steven Sheehy, her brothers Robert Bullock and James Bullock
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh funeral home on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Interment will be next to her husband John in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
