ROBERT THOMAS CANNIFF JR.
Latham- Robert Thomas Canniff, Jr., 67 of Latham, beloved husband of Mary A. Titcomb Canniff for 45 years, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Our Lady of Mercy in Guilderland.
Born in Springfield, MA on November 18, 1950, he was the son of the late Robert Thomas and Alice (Barry) Canniff. Bob was a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College with an associates degree in construction technology. He began his career working at the A & P Tea Co. in Colonie, later becoming the warehouse manager for Central Warehouse in Albany for many years. In 2016, Bob retired from Hudson Valley Community College where he was the receiving manager. He was a Latham resident for over 40 years and a longtime communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham. An avid sports fan, Bob loved his Boston teams especially the Boston Red Sox. From the time his eldest son Christopher was born Bob's true passion was being a father to his boys. He was a former scoutmaster for Cub Scouts Pack #92 and Boy Scouts Troop #162. He formerly coached youth soccer, basketball and baseball in North Colonie and was an avid golfer. Bob's biggest enjoyment was attending any and all of his boy's sporting events.
Survivors in addition to his wife Mary include his loving sons Christopher (Katharine Murphy) Canniff, Patrick (Tara) Canniff and Jeremy Canniff, his cherished grandchildren Rory Canniff and Owen Canniff, his sister Kathleen (James) Haas, brothers Barry (Judy) Canniff and Daniel (Mary Jo) Canniff. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday November 12, 2018 at 10:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. John Cairns officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.
