Obituary of Michael J. Tyrrell

MICHAEL J. TYRRELL Latham- Michael J. Tyrrell, 66 of Latham, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Born in Troy on March 29, 1952, he was the son of the late William J. and Doris L. (Lutz) Tyrrell. Mike was married to Theresa H. (Stasack) Terrell on April 15, 1977 and the two shared a devoted union of 39 years prior to her passing on September 6, 2016. He graduated from LaSalle Institute in Troy and attended Manhattan College majoring in accounting. Michael was an Electrician with Lowe's in Glenville since 2011. He was a former member of Wolferts Roost Country Club and a diehard New York Giants and Yankee fan. He was the former owner of P.S.S. Electric/Perimeter Security Company in Albany for many years. He is survived by his loving daughters Denise (Aaron) Luczak of Latham and Elizabeth (Brian) Mazza of Niskayuna, as well as his six cherished grandchildren Lara, Riley, Zachary Luczak, Samuel, Sophia and Scarlett Theresa Mazza. He is also survived by his sister Susan (John) Petroccione of Somers, NY and his Sister in Law Kathleen Tyrrell. He also cherished in his heart the memory of his granddaughter Ava Rose Mazza who passed away on May 14, 2010. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday October 25, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Michael's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday October 26 at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Fr. Geoffrey Burke officiating. Interment will take place next to his beloved wife Theresa in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy.
