JOHN RICHARD MILANESE Latham- John Richard Milanese, 93, of Latham, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2018 at Schuyler Ridge in Clifton Park, NY. Born in Troy, John was the son of Clarence and Assunta Sadie (Del Vecchio) Milanese. John was married to Lucy Brownell on July 1, 1950 and shared a blessed union of 68 years of love and devotion prior to his passing. He was pre-deceased by sisters Concetta Paul, Carmella Partisano, and Johann Tardi. John graduated from Catholic Central High School in Troy and attended RPI, also in Troy, and received a BS from Regents College. John proudly served as a Navy Seaman in the Pacific campaigns during World War II. After returning home he met and married Lucy Brownell, and they eventually settled in Latham, where they raised their two daughters. Upon his father's passing, John assumed responsibilities for Milanese Realty in Troy and Latham, NY. He was president of the Rensselaer County Realtors Assn., Director of the Home and Boat Show, and Executive VP of the National Home Builders Assn. He was a site realtor for several national fast food franchisers, and served as investor, developer, and consultant in residential and commercial real estate. He cultivated business partnerships with numerous people who became treasured friends. In retirement, John and Lucy spent many years wintering in Daytona Shore, Fl. John was notable for the interest he took in the well being of others and for his generosity. He could always be counted upon to help find solutions for any problems encountered by his associates. As such, he became the beloved head of a constantly expanding cohort of friends and family. In addition to beloved wife Lucy, John is survived by his loving daughters Julie (Daniel) Harris and Lisa (Philip) Evans, cherished grandchildren Jessica (Fabio Campagna) Harris and Alison (Joshua) Witmer, and adored great grandchildren Federico Campagna, Daphne Campagna, & Henry Witmer, and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Catholic Central High School at 625 7th Avenue, Troy, NY, 12182 or to the Leatherstocking Vet Honor Flights at P.O. Box 621, Cobleskill, NY 12043. John's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday August 21, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church at 347 New Loudon Rd, Latham, with Fr. Dominic Ingemie, celebrant and interment with military honors to follow at Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
