JOHN T. GRADONI
Loudonville- John T. Gradoni, 89, of Loudonville, beloved husband of the late Marilyn A. Gradoni, passed away peacefully on Monday August 6, 2018 at St. Peters Hospital.
Born in Cohoes on December 21, 1928, he was the son of the late Benedetto and Elvira (Mencarelli) Gradoni. He graduated from SUNY Delhi with an Associate's Degree and then John proudly served in the United States Army. John was married to Marilyn on June 25, 1955 and the two had shared a devoted and loving union of 59 beautiful years prior to her passing on June 4, 2014.
John was employed with Bethlehem Steel in Albany as a Sales Manager; he then also worked for Barker Steel in Albany. He was an avid golfer and golfed up until the age of 82 and was very proud of his 6 Hole-in-One's and multiple club championships. John was a former member of the Wolferts Roost Country Club as well as the Van Schiak Country Club. He also volunteered for Hope House for many years and organized the golf tournament in which he was recognized by Bishop Howard Hubbard.
He was survived by his loving children Richard (Kimberly) Gradoni of CA, Karen (David) McCann of MD, Sheila (Ed) Sawicki of Loudonville and Robert (Mary) Gradoni of Rotterdam as well as seven cherished grandchildren: Mark, James & Caleb Gradoni, Andrew & Katherine Sawicki, Sean (Kelly) & Brendan McCann as well as his sisters Benita Collins and Jeanette Crola.
John is predeceased by his beloved grandsons Kevin Gradoni and Ryan McCann and his siblings E. John, Ellen and Donald.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday August 9, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham
John's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday August 10 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville with Fr. James Walsh officiating.
Entombment will be next to his beloved Marilyn in St. Agnes Mausoleum, Menands.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in John's memory to Homedical Associates, P.O. Box 3203, Schenectady, NY 12303.
