JOSEPH FRANCIS SLEASMAN Latham- Joseph Francis Sleasman, 84 of Latham, beloved husband of the late Maria del Carmen Castro, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, June 21, 2018. Born in Albany on December 14, 1933, he was the son of the late Joseph Sleasman and Jessie Falzano. Joe proudly served in the United States Navy from 1952-1974 serving in the Fighter Squadron 102 and during the Korean & Vietnam Wars. Following Joe's retirement from the Navy, he was employed as an electrician with Catholic Charities in Troy. He was the Past President and Coach of the St. Francis deSales Baseball Association. He also loved the game of golf. But first and foremost Joe loved his family and they were the center of his life. Joe is survived by his loving children Jacqueline (Frank) Addario of Latham and Arthur J. "AJ" Sleasman of Schenectady as well as his cherished grandsons Kyle J. (Monika) Sleasman and Alexander J. Sleasman. He is also survived by his stepsisters Sandy and Cheryl. Joe is predeceased by his sister Pamela Rose Falzano. The family wishes to thank nurses and staff of Community Hospice of Albany for their care and compassion. In keeping with Joe's wishes there will be no visitation. Memorial services will be celebrated with full military honors at Briarwood Mausoleum at Memory Garden's where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Maria, at a date and time to be announced.
