ANTHONY F. VERGONI Latham- Anthony F. Vergoni, 74, of Latham passed away suddenly of natural causes on Monday February 26, 2018 in the comfort of his home. Born in Troy on September 12, 1943, he was the son of the late Marsino J. and Julia A. (Donnini) Vergoni. Tony received his Bachelors of Science from Texas A&M. He was married to Cecile M. (Rubin) Vergoni and shared a devoted and blessed union of almost 44 years together. Tony was employed for over 33 years with New York State and most recently with the Office of the Comptroller in Albany as a Senior Research Analyst. His greatest love was for his wife and family. In addition he was proficient in speaking Italian. He truly enjoyed traveling especially trips to Maine. He was also an avid reader and loved listening to music and going to the gym. Tony enjoyed his home immensely and his springtime ritual of planting and caring for his flowers. In addition to his loving wife Cecile, Tony is survived by his brother Paul R. (Laura) Vergoni, his brother in laws Bruce B. (Marilene) Rubin and Larry B. Rubin, his mother in law Florence Cohen Rubin, his nieces and nephews Maria (Gregory) Zarambo, Lisa (Sean) Hunter, Samuel Modesto Rubin and David Carlo Rubin as well as his great nieces and nephew Anna and Abagail Zarambo, Mia Hunter and Jakob Hunter. He is predeceased by his great nephew Angel Hunter and his father in law Samuel S. Rubin. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Tony's memory to the Town of Colonie EMS, 312 Wolf Road, Latham, NY 12110 or to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany NY 12205.
