Obituary of Rocco C. Tozzi

ROCCO C. TOZZI Latham- Rocco C. Tozzi, 87 of Latham, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's. He was born on October 10, 1930 in Watervliet, the son of the late Giulio and Domenica (DiTommosso) Tozzi. Rocco was married to the late Marie L. Magnotta Tozzi and shared a devoted union of 42 years prior to her passing on July 22, 1994. He proudly served in the United States Army. Rocco was a Master Carpenter and Foreman employed at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy for many years, retiring in 1986. He is survived by his loving children Rocco J. (Linda) Tozzi, Marie L. (Charles) Hunt and John M. (Karen) Tozzi, his 5 cherished grandchildren Candice Hunt, Rocco (Meagan) Tozzi Jr., Amy Tozzi, Matthew Hunt and Allison Tozzi as well as his adored great grandson Dominic Trifiletti Hunt. He is also survived by his siblings Theresa Tozzi Soldani, Antonio Tozzi and Joseph Tozzi and his dear friend Amelia Liburdi. Rocco was predeceased by his infant son John Michael, his grandson C. Michael Hunt, his siblings Nicola Tozzi, Daniel Tozzi, Yolanda Tozzi Caruso, Rita Tozzi Caruso, Jean Tozzi Patalino and Anna Marie Tozzi Farina. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday February 18 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Rocco's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday February 19 at 10:00 am at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Fr. Brian Kelly officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice Foundation 310 S. Manning Blvd, Albany, NY 12208. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Peter's Hospital 4th Floor and Community Hospice for the care and compassion they gave toward Rocco during his stay with them.
