JAMES H. TARTER Ballston Lake- James H. Tarter, 76 of Ballston Lake, beloved husband of Karen (Olsen) Tarter, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, PA on May 6, 1933, he was the son of the late Henry G. and Laura M. (James) Tarter. Jim worked for the Bendix Corp. (now Honeywell Corp.) for over 30 years as a Mechanical Engineer, serving in Detroit Michigan at the Bendix Research Labs and then at the Friction Materials Division in Green Island. He enjoyed bowling and golfing on company teams and most recently enjoyed gathering with the Bendix "Lunch Bunch" regularly. His real passion was his books and reading. Survivors in addition to his loving wife Karen include his step daughter; Vanessa Schwilling of Cohoes and his step son; Andrew Schwilling of Kansas City, KS as well as 4 grandchildren and several cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday from 4-6 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY. A memorial service will be held on Sunday August 23 at 11:30 am at the Calvary United Methodist Church (Belle Ave & Ridge Pl.) in Latham. In lieu of flowers donations to the Calvary United Methodist Church Building Fund, 15 Ridge Pl., Latham, NY 12110 is respectfully requested.
