Obituary of Paul R. Fowler

PAUL R. FOWLER Cohoes- Paul R. Fowler, 88 of Cohoes and formerly of Saratoga Springs, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 26, 2017 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born in Troy on February 27, 1929, he was the son of the late Earl and Louise (Warger) Fowler. Paul was married to the former Caryll M. Howe on August 17, 1974 and the two shared a blessed union of 43 years prior to his passing. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War where he received two battle stars. Paul was a Supervisor and Meter Tester for Niagara Mohawk in Albany, retiring in 1988 after 32 years of dedicated service. Previously he worked for General Electric in Schenectady for 5 years. He was a past member of the Watervliet Elks Lodge #1500 and the United Commercial Travelers of America in Troy. In addition to his beloved wife Caryll, he is survived by his children: Beth H. Cipperley, Lori L. Bloomer, Judy A. Fowler, Jami L. Ortung and his stepdaughter: Kim Howe; as well as his 8 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Paul is predeceased by his first wife Vera, his daughter Lisa M. Fowler and his siblings: Arnold, Vernon, Vincent and Lois. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday January 2, 2018 from 5-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. Funeral services for Paul will be celebrated on Wednesday January 3, 2018 at 11:00 am at Calvary United Methodist Church, 15 Ridge Place, Latham with Pastor Janet James officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Paul's memory to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern NY, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Washington Ave Ext. Albany NY 12205.
