Obituary of Susan M. Loucks

SUSAN M. LOUCKS Colonie- Susan M. Loucks, 78 of Colonie, beloved wife of Harry B. Loucks, entered into eternal life on Sunday October 22, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospice with her loving family at her side. Born in Albany on December 14, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Helen Sheffer Osteyee. She was a graduate of Vincentian Institute class of 1956. Susan married her beloved Harry B. Loucks on July 13, 1957 and the two have shared a beautiful marriage of over 60 years. She was employed by the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance as a supervisor for over 27 years prior to her retirement in 2001. She was a communicant of Christ Our Light Church in Loudonville. Sue was a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192 and the Ladies Auxiliary she also served as former inner guard at the lodge. She was a former member of the Parent Teachers Association at Our Lady of Angels School. Sue loved crocheting, cooking, baking, singing and traveling. She loved her dogs and all types of animals. Survivors in addition to her husband include her loving children Michael (Mary) Loucks of Colonie, David Loucks of Colonie and Mark (Pamela) Loucks of Cohoes, her cherished grandchildren Michael, Matthew (Renee), Megan, Ryan, Brian and David Jr. Her great-grandchildren Alexis, Miya and Alivia and her daughter-in-law Yvonne Macherone. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret Patricia Flagler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday October 27, 2017 at 12:30 pm at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville with Rev. Alan Jupin officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
