ANNE J. CARABIS Latham- Anne J. Carabis, 87 of Latham passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 22, 2017 in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Troy on January 31, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Mabel (Hunt) Carabis. Anne was a dedicated teacher and educator for over 25 years at Shaker Road Elementary School. She was also a faithful communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. Anne is survived by her nieces and nephews: Thomas (JoAnn) Carabis, Michael Carabis, Timothy (Cindy) Carabis, Matthew (Mary) Carabis, Lyn (Brian) McGlinchey, Steven (Laurie) Romanski, Ellen (James) Mattrazzo, James Carabis and Sister in Law: Mary Ellen Carabis. She is predeceased by her siblings: Mary Romanski, Bernard Carabis and Edward Carabis. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on 9:00-10:30 am on Tuesday June 27, 2017 at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. Anne's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Fr. Geoffrey Burke officiating.
