FRANCES RITA SIKSO

LATHAM - Frances Rita Sikso, 89 of Charlotte, NC and formerly of Latham, NY, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024, at her residence at Northlake House Community in Charlotte, NC.

Born in Hornell, NY on June 6, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Shirley Ward and Frances Ethel (Springsted) Sherwood. Frances married Andrew Charles Sikso and the two shared a devoted union of over 67 years before her passing.

Frances had a long career as a Registered Nurse for Albany Memorial Hospital. She was former President of the NYS Emergency Nurses Association, former member of the Colonie Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, and Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Frances was also Pastoral Care Coordinator, and member of the Rosary & Altar Society at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Latham.

In addition to her husband, survivors of Frances include her three loving children, Elizabeth (Jack) Morrone of Rockledge, FL, Patricia Best of Mooresville, NC, and Kieran Sikso of New York, NY; her six cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Angela, Lena, and John Morrone, and Ryan and Tyler Best; her six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the care of The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home. No public services are scheduled at this time.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Northlake House for the loving care they gave Frances during her long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's.
