EDWARD J. ROSKIEWICZ Latham- Edward J. Roskiewicz, 92, of Latham, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 29, 2016 at the Schuyler Ridge Nursing Center in Clifton Park. Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 7, 1924, he was the son of the late Francis and Winifred (Piechocki) Roskiewicz. Ed was a graduate of Wilbur Lynch High School in Amsterdam; he then went on to receive his business degree from the University of Miami. He married the former Patricia A.Thurman on March 11, 1950 and the two shared a blessed union of 66 years prior to his passing. Ed proudly served during World War II in the United States Marine Corps. At one time Ed was a furniture salesman at Wagers Furniture, Macys and also at Taft Furniture in Albany, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. He was a former usher at St. Pius X Church in Loudonville and was a diehard New York Giants Fan. Ed loved his children and they were the center of his life. He was also a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his loving children: Michael F. (Andrea) Roskiewicz of Aspen, CO, Linda S. (Paul) Barkevich of Clifton Park, James G. (Mechelle) Roskiewicz of Warrensburg, Edward J. (Kimberly) Roskiewicz of Barrington, RI and Nancy C. (Shawn) Finn of Belchertown, MA; his 5 cherished grandchildren: Wesley Robinson, Blake Robinson, Erin Finn, Kathryn Roskiewicz, Jordan Roskiewicz as well as his sister: Eleanor Rork of Barrington, IL Ed is predeceased by his daughter: Anne Theresa Roskiewicz Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday January 3, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday January 4, 2017 at 9:30 am at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Fr. John Cairns officiating. In lieu of flowers and due to cemetery regulations, memorial contributions can be made in Ed's memory to the Disabled American Veterans, WM J Lasch #10, 4 Elmwood St. Albany NY 12203. Interment will take place with military honors in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
