JANE W. CORNELL Clifton Park- Jane W. Cornell, 85 of Clifton Park and formerly of Newtonville, beloved wife of the late Nicholas J. Cornell, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Hospice in Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Care in Clifton Park with her loving family by her side. Born in Troy on March 5, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Jane (Whaley) Walsh. Jane graduated from Catholic Central High School and then received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from The College of St. Rose. She was married to the love of her life Nicholas for 43 years prior to his passing on October 24, 1998. Jane was a Teacher at Watervliet High School. She then left the workforce to raise her five children. Upon returning she then worked as a teacher for BOCES in the Adult Education Department and then in the Alumni Office at St. Rose. She was a member of the St. Ambrose Altar Rosary Society, The Red Hats and was a Eucharistic minister at St. Edward the Confessor Church. Jane also was a dedicated volunteer at Memorial Hospital in Albany. Jane is survived by her loving children: Dr. David (Rosemarie) G. Cornell of Clifton Park, Catherine (Jon) C. Niemczyk of TX, Paul (Susan) J. Cornell of TX, Daniel (Jeanne) R. Cornell of Clifton Park and Thomas (Corlie) M. Cornell of NC; her eight cherished grandchildren: Michael and Christopher Niemczyk, Lindsay, Megan, Andrew, Paige, Alexandra and Joshua Cornell, three cherished great- grandchildren: Kennedy, Milo and Wyatt and her brother Edward (Dorothy) Walsh of Rotterdam as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In keeping with her wishes there will be no visitation. Memorial services for Jane will be celebrated on Monday August 1, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Edward the Confessor Church, Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park with Fr. Patrick Butler officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America at www.alzfdn.org or to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, New York 12110 Interment will take place next to her beloved husband in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands..
