HELEN MACK Waterford- Helen Mack, 92 of Waterford, beloved wife of Stephen Mack for over 70 years, passed away peacefully on Monday July 18, 2016 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born November 20, 1923 in Mechanicville, Helen was the daughter of Isaac and Anna Olear Gydamashuk. She graduated from Mechanicville High School in 1941 and Troy Business College in 1942. Helen worked in the office at the Watervliet Arsenal as a planning coordinator during World War II. She then left to work for the New York Income Tax Bureau as a secretary until her marriage in 1946 to Stephen Mack and to raise her children. They resided in Latham for 57 years until moving to Waterford in 2001. She was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Cohoes, where was belonged to the ladies altar guild as well as serving as their past secretary. During World War II she participated with the Red Cross in Mechanicville making bandages and gift packages for the armed soldiers. In addition to her husband Helen is survived by her son V. Rev. Stephen Mack and his wife Barbara of Auburn, NY. Three cherished grandchildren: Tara (Roberto) Escalona of Toms River NJ, Tanya Mack of North Carolina and Christopher D. Mack of Auburn. Two adored great grandchildren: Katie Marie Shanahan and Loralie Rose Mack as well as her nieces and nephews: Catherine, Terry, Judith, Paula, Deborah, Diane, Thomas and Michael and her precious friends: Anne, Ellen, Joan, Al and Ward. Helen was predeceased by her beautiful daughter Barbara Rimanosky in 2000 and her son-in-law Dimitri "Mitch" Rimanosky in 2008. Funeral Services will be celebrated on Saturday July 23, 2016 at 10:00 am St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 67 Saratoga St, Cohoes, with Fr. Terenti Wasielewski officiating. Interment will take place in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Latham.
