EMMELENE E. KEATING Latham- Emmelene E. Keating 102 of Latham, wife of the late Harold C. Keating passed away peacefully on December 4, 2015 at the Teresian House in Albany. Emmelene was the daughter of the late J.M. and Myrtle A. (Gresh) Hawkins. She went to Indiana Hospital School of Nursing for RN. She settled in Purchase Line, Pa with her husband Harold and became a school nurse for Purchase Line Jointure and retired after 25 years. She was also a nurse to her neighbors. Emmelene was a member of the East Mahoning Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, was involved in the missions and was also a Sunday school teacher. She also belonged to the Amaranth Eastern Star of Indiana Pa. Chapter. After 1994, Emmelene went to live with her twin sister to be with some of her family in Bremerton, Washington for 6 years. In 2000, she then came to New York to be with her daughter and family where she then became a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Latham. Survivors include her beloved daughter: Patricia Ann (Louis) Murphy of Latham and her three cherished grandchildren Mark, David and Melanie Murphy and one great granddaughter Andrea Murphy as well as her sister Doris Guseman and several nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings: Geraldine Fenton, Robert Hawkins, Virginia Heath and her twin sister Roselene Stone Memorial services will be celebrated on April 27, 2016 at 11:00 am at Calvary United Methodist Church, 15 Ridge Place, Latham.
