Obituary of Joseph P. Young

JOSEPH P. YOUNG Watervliet- Joseph P. Young, 91 of Watervliet, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Community Hospice at the Eddy Heritage House, in Troy. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on August 10, 1923, he was the son of the late John J. and Mary M. (Dowling) Young. He was a graduate of DePaul University in Chicago. Joe married the former Paula A. Cevasco on April 4, 1998 and the two shared a blessed union of almost 17 years prior to his passing. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1945-1959 and was the treasurer of the Marco Island Power Squadron in Florida. Joe was employed for many years with Lederle Labratories in Pearl River, New York as a Regional Manager, retiring in 1987. Joe is survived by his beloved wife: Paula and their loving children; Dr. Barbara (George) Summers of TX, Michele (Ernie Dettbarn) Young of VA, Kathleen Young of NJ, Chris (Mary Kay) Young of FL, Phil (Cheryl) Young of VA, Jeff (Pamala) Young of FL, Andy (Debra) Borel of CO, Brian (Sharon) Borel of NY, Kristin (John Hegi) Borel of CA and Dorothy (Frank) Murphy of NY as well as 12 cherished grandchildren and his sister in law Betty Young of NJ. He is predeceased by his brother William Young. Memorial services will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 12:00 pm at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Fr.
