GERTRUDE PAPPALAU Albany- Gertrude Pappalau 94, passed away on Saturday February 28, 2015 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Pappalau who passed away on March 4, 2015 Born in Albany on April 29, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William and Louise (Collen) Vonk. Gertrude married her beloved Donald Pappalau on September 30, 1950 and the two shared a blessed union of 64 years prior to her passing. Gertrude was a loving and dedicated homemaker who tended to her family with the utmost of care. Survivors in addition to her husband include her loving children Donald B. (Lorraine) Pappalau of Arizona, Karen (James) DiNovo of Florida, Janis (Michael) McMahon of Latham her 7 cherished grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her siblings: Katherine, Louise, Margaret, Connie, William & Jean. Relative and friends are invited and may call on Monday March 9, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham with services for both Gertrude and Don beginning at 12:30 p.m. Interment will take place in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Donations to the Susan B. Koman Breast Cancer Research P. O. Box 650309 Dallas, TX 75265-0309 would be appreciated.
