STERLING WILD PIGEON TREADWELL

CLIFTON PARK - Sterling Wild Pigeon Treadwell, age 47, passed on October 1, 2023 after a sudden illness, leaving laughter and cherished memories behind. Born on March 8, 1976, in Brookhaven, New York, Sterling was a true original who knew how to make life an exciting adventure.

This eccentric soul, flitting from role to role, brought joy and inspiration to everyone he encountered. Whether he was playing the role of an empathetic ear, a caffeine connoisseur behind the bar, a doting father, or a friend with an outrageous sense of humor, Sterling always had a surprise up his sleeve. He could frequently be found sporting a fedora or baseball cap and a trench coat, a style he enjoyed since his high school days at Schalmont.

Sterling possessed an imagination that could rival the wildest of storytellers. Alongside his son Malcolm, they built entire worlds using nothing but colorful Legos, action figures, and their endless creativity. Every moment spent with his little partner-in-crime was an epic adventure, filled with giggles and boundless imagination.

An enrolled tribal member of the Unkechaug Indian Nation on the Poospatuck Indian Reservation in Mastic, New York, Sterling always carried a piece of his roots with him. Though he wandered to upstate New York, Minnesota, and Arizona, his heart never stopped yearning for home.

As for his friends, spending time with Sterling was like stepping into a whimsical wonderland. You never knew what to expect - a hilarious comment, a profound conversation, or simply a listening ear when you needed it most. And let's not forget his tech prowess, which did not extend to furniture assembly! Sterling was the go-to guy for all things electronics, always ready to help with a smile.

When he wasn't busy cracking jokes and building connections, Sterling devoted his time to his love of art. He chased his passion to SUNY Oswego before earning a BA in Story and Art from SUNY Empire State University in 2010. His artwork was an expression of his unique and sometimes strange perspective of the world, always sparking interest and conversation.

Survived by his beloved son, Malcolm Night Fire Treadwell, his partner-in-fun, best friend Sean Clayton, his brothers Cory Light Foot Treadwell and Donald Bernard Treadwell, his sisters Veronica Cindi Blue Sky Treadwell and Lezlye Treadwell Williams, his mother Ottilia Plenk Treadwell and his wife Amanda Treadwell, Sterling's absence leaves a void that will never be filled. He is also survived by two nieces and four nephews. He now joins his father, Donald Edwin Lone Otter Treadwell, his grandmother Margareta Plenk, and his brother Luke Warner Swift Hawk Treadwell.

In honor of his exuberant spirit, two joyous ceremonies will celebrate Sterling's life. A lively Celebration of Life is being planned for November 2023, where tales of his witticisms and adventures will be shared with laughter and warmth. Furthermore, a Family Blessing is scheduled for March 2024, gathering loved ones for a more intimate gathering to pay tribute to a man who brought so much light into their lives.

So, as we bid adieu, let us remember Sterling Wild Pigeon Treadwell as a unique soul who reminded us to embrace our playful side. May his legacy inspire us to find joy in every moment and to spread laughter like confetti wherever we go. Sterling, your colorful wings may be still, but your spirit will forever soar in our hearts.
