The story of the meaning Omar has in the lives of the people he associated with cannot be abridged.

Omar's brother-in-law, enduring friend, and bandmate Jeffrey Allen wrote from Virginia: "Omar to me [was] a dedicated family man; And if he was truly your friend, you know it because he treated his friend like royalty, and the intricate ways he would tell his stories...he was an artist with words. He painted pictures in your brain with words to the point where you could actually see the story clearly. A true MC [emcee], to the bone. I'm gonna miss my friend. I miss him now.".

Omar's funeral services were held on Friday, August 25th, 2023. Interment took place in the Muslim Cemetery of the Capital District. Arrangements entrusted to the care of ther Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Latham.
