THOMAS A. ENGLAT Latham- Thomas A. Englat, 91, of Latham, beloved husband of late Elizabeth Casey, passed away peacefully on Monday July 22, 2013 at the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes. Born on May 13, 1922 in Cohoes, He was the son of the late Anthony M. and Mary A. (Brozick) Englat. Thomas married Elizabeth Casey on January 3, 1944 and the two shared 65 cherished years of marriage before her passing in 2009. He proudly served in the US Marines during World War II. Tom was a Motor Design Specialist employed by General Electric in Schenectady. He worked there for 43 years until retiring in 1983. His hobbies included guns, chopping wood, hunting, fishing and golf. He was a member of G.E's quarter-century club, and the motor and generator department rifle team. At one time, Tom was a rifle instructor at Catholic Central High school during the 40's and 50's along with instructing rifle safety in Albany County. He was a member of Troy Pistol league and had earned the lifetime master rifleman award from the National Rifle Association. Thomas was a member of the Watervliet Fish and Game Protective Association and was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham, where he was the money counter. He was very involved in the Latham little league during the 1960's and active in LaSalle Alumni Association where he graduated from. Tom is survived by his loving children: Sandra A. (Paul) Fazackerley of Oak Hill, VA and Thomas A. (Kathleen) Englat of Latham, his cherished grandchildren: Bridget (Sean) Murray, Adam (Amy) Fazackerley, Matthew (Mary Kate) Englat and adored great-children Andrew, Caden and Miles Fazackerley. Tom is predeceased by his brother William Englat. He is also survived by his in laws Josephine Englat, John (Joan) Casey and William Caisse and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited and may call 9:00 - 11:00 am Thursday July 25, 2013 at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. A Mass of Burial will be celebrated on Thursday July 25 at 12:00 noon at St. Ambrose Church in Latham, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Entombment will be held at Most Holy Redeemer in Niskayuna. The family would like to thank the staff at the Eddy Village Green and especially the wonderful staff of House #6 and the elders and a special thank you to Rev.
