I met Dick in 2002 when he first came to volunteer at AARP. I can honestly say that Dick was one of my favorite volunteers and such a fine man. I have memories of Dick at most of our events through the years and we shared many laughs together. I am writing this through tears and cannot even convey in words the void he will leave in our office and how much he will be missed. What he has left us with, however, are many wonderful memories that will never be forgotten.

I had the honor and pleasure of working with Dick at AARP. He was truly a wonderful person and we will miss him greatly. His dedication to volunteerism is a source of inspiration.

Dick was a dear friend of mine; we met @ the EGG many yrs ago & became fast friends. He had more energy than anyone I know @ any age. This Sept we volunteered @ the Irish festival- pouring beer all day then we listened to the music & later that night we ushered @ the EGG for a Beatles tribute concert. He was on his feet the whole time while I was sitting @ the EGG! Recently we spent the winter holidays together, went to art receptions, movies, senior lunches, the race track & Betty Film's 80th birthday party. In addition to being so much fun Dick was a great comfort to me 4 yrs ago when I lost my Mom & I got cancer within a very short period of time. He was just a great guy & I will miss him greatly.

I had the great honor and joy of working with Dick for many years with AARP NY. We miss him greatly. He was a wonderful combination of smart, funny, energetic, enthusiastic, and dedicated. A true gentleman and a source of great inspiration for all of us. He was generous with his time always offering to help out and his work touched the lives of countless older New Yorkers and their families.
