James Sperry Page, 83, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by the love of his family. Throughout his life, Jim possessed a remarkable strength of spirit, an unwavering will to persevere, and a genuine appreciation for each day he was given.

Born on January 10, 1943, in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of the late Jerome C. and Dorthea A. (Sperry) Page. Jim spent his formative years in both Niskayuna and Philadelphia. He graduated from Niskayuna High School in 1961 before continuing his education at Union College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree as a member of the Class of 1965. He later obtained a Master of Science degree from Russell Sage College.

Jim devoted his professional life to education, teaching science for the Albany City School District at Philip Livingston Middle School. He took great pride in his work and was known as a hardworking and dedicated educator whose commitment to his students remained steadfast throughout his career. Following many years of service, he retired with the satisfaction of having made a lasting impact on countless young lives.

An advocate for health and wellness, Jim believed strongly in the importance of exercise. For many years he enjoyed working out at the Ciccotti Fitness Center, and when he was no longer able to do so, he continued his daily routine by walking laps through his neighborhood. His determination to remain active reflected the same resilience and discipline that defined his approach to life.

Jim had a quirky sense of humor, a unique perspective on the world, and an infectious ability to find joy in everyday moments. He loved life deeply and was always ready with a laugh or a witty observation. Family and friends will remember him as someone who genuinely enjoyed the company of others and who found his greatest happiness spending time with his children and grandchildren.

One of Jim's lifelong passions was genealogy. He took immense pride in his family history and spent years researching and documenting his family tree, preserving stories and connections that will continue to be treasured by future generations.

In addition to his late parents, Jim was predeceased by his brothers, David Page and Michael Page.

He is survived by his beloved children, Douglas and Lea Page, William and Amanda Dudar, and Benjamin and Kathryn Page Stanton; his cherished grandchildren, Emily, Marcelina, Samantha, Wolf, and Ozzie; and his nieces and nephew, Whitney Decker, Melissa Bienek, and Travis Moore, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Jim's family will remember him for his strength, intelligence, dedication, humor, and enduring love for those closest to him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family history he preserved, and the countless memories shared with those who loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, June 19th, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. A prayer service and sharing of memories will take place at 4:45 PM.
