Carol Joyce Stuart of Albany, NY, passed away peacefully at the age of 91. She shared nearly 62 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Marc Stuart. In recent years, Carol and Marc resided at Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker in Albany.

Born in Bayport, New York, Carol was the daughter of the late Willard Carmen Tuttle and Viola Frances (Lane) Tuttle. She was predeceased by her brothers, Kenneth, Roy, and Kerry Tuttle, as well as her sister, Sharon. Above all else, Carol cherished her role as a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. In addition to her husband Marc, she is survived by her sons, Brian and Neil Stuart, and by her grandsons, Daniel and Matthew.

Carol dedicated more than forty years of her life to nursing and healthcare administration. She began her career as a registered nurse at The Brooklyn Hospital, where she both taught and practiced nursing. Carol and Marc later settled in Narragansett, Rhode Island, where they made their home for approximately 45 years, aside from several years spent in Marshfield, Massachusetts.

Throughout her career, Carol was deeply committed to helping others. She assisted in managing a health clinic that provided care to underserved populations and taught classes that helped students pursue careers within the medical profession. She later worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island, where she spent nearly twenty years in healthcare administration and policy development. During her tenure, she developed healthcare policy initiatives and presented them to both Blue Cross executives and representatives of the federal government.

Carol was also devoted to her church and community. A longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Narragansett for more than 45 years, she was known for warmly welcoming newcomers and offering encouragement and friendship to those around her. Her caring nature and involvement in community service touched many lives.

In her free time, Carol enjoyed gardening and painting, and she had a remarkable gift for remembering the favorite things of others and finding thoughtful, one-of-a-kind gifts that brought joy to family and friends alike.

Carol will be remembered for her intelligence, compassion, generosity, and unwavering dedication to caring for others.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a brief graveside service on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026, 3:30 PM at Albany Rural Cemetery. Please meet at the South Gate (intersection of Menand Rd and Rte. 378).
