NEWTONVILLE - Ann Howard Morton, 87, of Newtonville, NY, passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2026, at Albany Medical Center. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral mass at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Rd., Latham on Friday, May 8th, at 11:30 AM; Reverend Tom Fallati, celebrant.

Born in Schenectady, NY, in 1938, Ann graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Glens Falls. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nazareth College (1960) and a Master of Science in Parent & Child Nursing from Russell Sage College (1981). She served as a registered nurse at Parsons Child and Family Center, earning a reputation for patience, intelligence, and compassion. After retiring in 2001, Ann volunteered at the Schenectady Free Health Clinic with her beloved husband, Donald R. Morton, M.D., her partner of 64 years.

Ann is survived by her husband, Donald, and her children Kathryn (William) O'Rourke, Jennifer (David) Morton, Martha Mosca, and Bruce Morton, as well as her nine grandchildren (Casey, Luke, Madeleine, Caroline, Samantha, Anna, Jade, Isaiah, Charles) and great granddaughter (Cailey). Ann is preceded in death by her parents (Robert, Mary) and siblings (Robert, Margaret, Michael, Jeffrey).

Ann will be remembered for her love of nature and passion for travel, visiting six of the seven continents to birdwatch with her husband. Her legacy is defined by her devotion to her family, faith, and tremendous dedication to helping others.
