Joseph Patrick Powers Obituary
LATHAM - Joseph Patrick Powers, 80, passed away on April 2, 2026, at Wesley Rehabilitation Center in Saratoga Springs, NY with his beloved wife, Margaret, at his side.
Born in Amsterdam, NY, Joe was the son of the late Patrick and Mildred (Carmody) Powers. He was a 1963 graduate of Keveny Memorial Academy and attended Hudson Valley Community College.
Joe proudly served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. In 1966, he married Margaret Brackley, and the two would go on to spend a cherished 59 years together.
Joe was a longtime employee of National Grid (formerly Niagara Mohawk), where he worked from 1967 until his retirement in 2001. In retirement, he enjoyed working as a funeral assistant at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home in Latham.
In addition to his loving wife, Joseph is survived by his two daughters, Joanne (Robert Conlen) and Patrice (James King); his three grandchildren, Nora Conlen, Anna King, and Aidan King; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brother, Maurice Powers.
The family extends special thanks to his niece, Melanie Brackley Cole, for her guidance in navigating Joe's comfort care. They also wish to thank the dedicated staff at Wesley Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care and support.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
Interment with military honors will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.
