Katherine A. Brennan Obituary
COLONIE – Katherine Ann (Feeney) Brennan, 70, of Colonie, passed away on April 1, 2026. She was surrounded by her four children.
Katherine, "Kathy", was born on August 24, 1955, in Aberdeen, South Dakota and dreamed nearly every day of going back. Some of her favorite moments were there, on her grandparents' farm where she rode horses and learned the art of needlepoint. She was a skilled cross stitch artist and one of her most revered accomplishments was helping to recreate the Plimoth Jacket from 1620. Kathy was also a prolific reader with a deep love for books, her "most treasured" items.
As a young adult, Kathy moved to Albany where she graduated from the Vincentian Institute and then went on to Maria College for nursing school. She spent over twenty-five years as a R.N. in and around Albany, retiring as a school nurse for Loudonville Christian School.
Kathy was married forty-one years to Martin "Duke" Brennan, devoted father and loving husband, before his passing in August of 2022.
Kathy is survived by her children: Amanda Christy (Danielle Giovanniello), Jonathan James (Kaitlin), Caitlin Siobhan (Alex) Todd, Corinne Elyse (Shane Stiles) and her stepsons, Martin Andrew (Melissa) and Christopher Joseph (Heidi) Brennan. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Teigen, Oliver and Elena Todd and step grandchildren : Logan, Benjamin, Aidan, Grace, Ethan and Forever Andrew as well as her sister, Jean (Feeney) Ryder.
In addition to her husband, Duke, and parents, James and Bernice (Hankin) Feeney, Kathy is predeceased by her brother, James P. Feeney.
"Hark now, hear the sailors cry. Smell the sea and feel the sky. Let your soul and spirit fly, into the mystic."
