LATHAM – William "Carl" Lynch, Jr, 69, of Latham, NY was called to the eternal gates of heaven on March 24th, 2026.

Born on December 31, 1956, in Latham, NY, he was the oldest son of the late William Carl and Kathleen Ann Lynch.

Carl graduated from Shaker High School, Class of 1974. He had a rewarding career for the State of New York as a retirement/benefit specialist for over 30 years.

Religion was the biggest focus in Carl's life. Having a true servant heart, he volunteered time to cook meals for parish events, drove those who were home bound to weekly church services and provided transportation to friends and family to job locations, appointments and wellness meetings. Carl was an avid sports enthusiast, especially a fan of the NY Giants and NY Yankees, but also enjoyed ESPN programming year-round. His other passion was music; his ability to know song titles, lyrics and artists was truly amazing. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards and dice games and celebrating birthdays, holidays and vacations.

Left to cherish his memory, Carl is survived by his children, William (Maryann) Lynch and AnnMarie Abbott (Jeffrey), his loving siblings, David (Lisa) Lynch, Timothy (Cheryl) Lynch, Sharon (Joseph) Sensi, and Irene Lynch, grandchildren Lucy, Brennan and Charles, six nieces and nephews, many other family members and close friends. Carl is predeceased by his brother, James Lynch.

Services will take place on Monday, March 30th, 2026 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1336 1st Ave, Watervliet. Visitation will be held from from 9-11 AM with funeral mass to follow at 11 AM. Interment to follow in the family plot of St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet. Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the care of The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Latham.
