Therese A. Carhart Obituary
THERESE "Terry" A. CARHART
TROY - Therese Ann "Terry" Carhart, 75, of Troy, NY, passed away March 13, 2026 at Van Rensselaer Manor in Troy.
Terry was born in Troy to William and Mary Grace Callagan on October 19, 1950. She was a graduate of Troy High School.
Terry worked as a medical secretary for Samaritan Hospital, Leonard Hospital, and retired from Clifton Park Family Practice.
Terry enjoyed any activity that would allow family and friends to be a part of. The Sunday Sleepers bowling league was made up of family and friends over a 30-year span, card and board games at her dining room table, going to all types of shows like the Rockets during Christmas or to see "my man Barry", as a die-hard Barry Manilow Fan. Baseball games with family and friends would take her to any ballpark from The Joe to Fenway (even though she was a Yankee fan)! Terry was up for any road trip for fun or to help a friend in need, she'd travel anywhere! When she was alone, other than her two cats "Barry" and "Mandy", she loved to crochet. Of course, with family in mind, for years she crocheted Christmas stockings. These were made for so many people, her kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews, all handmade with their name and lots and lots of love.
Terry is survived by her four children, Karen Len, Phillip Carhart Jr (Kerry), Patrick Carhart (Marla), and Kevin Carhart; all of Troy, her four "grandbabies" Devon Lauder, Erica Len, Darrin Len Jr (Brittany), and Meghan Len, her sister Betsy O'Brien (Tom), sisters-in-law MaryAnne Donnelly (Larry), Linda Callagan, and Louise Reilly, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by the love of her life Phillip Carhart Sr, her parents William and Mary Grace Callagan, and her brothers William "Billy" and Thomas "Tom" Callagan.
Donations in Terry's name are kindly requested be made to The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society by visiting www.mohawkhumane.org.
Terry's family would like to thank everyone at Eddy Pace for all the kindness and hard work they put into helping our family, especially Nicole and Rebecca. Also, the entire staff at Van Rensselaer Manor; Our stay was brief, but from the minute we came through the door to the final walk out the door, everyone went above and beyond, not only for our mom but our entire family; and there was a lot of family. The care and compassion were exceptional and never once did they make my mom or any of us feel like a burden.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday, March 17th, 2026 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
