Dolores Margaret Willey Obituary

DOLORES M. WILLEY

LOUDONVILLE - Dolores Margaret Willey, born June 12, 1931, was a woman whose life was defined by love, faith, family, and generosity of spirit. The beloved daughter of Eugene and Barbara Walter, Dolores grew up surrounded by a large and lively family as one of eight children, a beginning that shaped the warmth and devotion she would show to others throughout her life.

A proud graduate of Roessleville, Class of 1949, Dolores carried with her a strong work ethic and a heart for serving others. She later worked for the North Colonie School District, where she was known for her kindness and dedication.

Dolores shared 49 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Hubert Willey. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and community. She was the proud and devoted mother of seven children, and her legacy continued to grow through her 17 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy and her proudest accomplishment.

A faithful parishioner of Christ Our Light Church, Dolores lived her faith each day through her compassion, generosity, and unwavering love for others. She found great joy in fellowship, especially attending seniors' bingo with friends from Christ Our Light at Zaloga Post 1520, and she was also known as a spirited and enthusiastic participant in her dart league.

Dolores had a gift for making everyone feel at home. Her door was always open, and her home was a place where family, friends, and even new acquaintances were welcomed with open arms. No one ever left without a good laugh, a warm hug, and a full belly. Her kindness, humor, and genuine care for others touched countless lives.

She will be remembered as a true woman of faith, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, and someone whose warmth brought people together. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Her life was a beautiful example of faith, love, and family — and her legacy will continue through the many generations who carry her spirit forward.
