JAMES R. DeLISLE
LOUDONVILLE - James R. DeLisle, 86, of Loudonville, New York, beloved husband of the late Carol (Sheffer) DeLisle, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, with his loving daughters as well as Diane Lombardo and Gary Raylinsky, at his side.
Born on November 22, 1939, in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late Cecilia Makowski.
James was a lifelong music lover and even worked in a record store early in his life, sharing his passion for music with others. He was a hardworking man with a strong and unwavering work ethic that he proudly instilled in his daughters. For many years, he served as a warehouse manager for Krackeler Scientific in Albany where he was known for his dedication and reliability.
In 1978, James proudly purchased his home in Loudonville, a milestone that meant a great deal to him. He took tremendous pride in maintaining his property, a responsibility the whole family shared—reflecting the values of diligence and care that he modeled throughout his life.
James enjoyed traveling, especially family trips to Wildwood when his daughters were young, as well as visits to Disney, including cherished trips later in life with his beloved late wife, Carol. He was also a true car enthusiast. His vehicles were always meticulously maintained, and he especially loved classic cars and attending car shows. He even enjoyed shopping, but above all else, his greatest joy was his family. He treasured time spent with his daughters, grandchildren, and even had a special fondness for his daughters' dogs.
He is survived by his two daughters, Michelle Law (Gary Raylinsky) and Amy Estep; his four grandchildren, Jonathan, Christopher, Lily, and Laurel; his sister-in-law, Diane Lombardo, who had known him since she was six years old and regarded him as a brother; as well as his nieces and nephews.
