Deborah Susanne Bullock Obituary
CLIFTON PARK - Deborah Susanne “Deb” Bullock, 64 of Clifton Park, beloved wife of the late James “Mike” Bullock, cherished mother of Madelene Mary Lyon, and best “Nemo” to her grandchildren Thea Claire and Rowan James, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 16, 2026 at Albany Medical Center, in Albany with her family at her side.
Born in Syracuse, NY on June 18, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Carol (Myers) Gualtieri. Deb worked as a dedicated Disaster Preparedness Program Representative, employed by NYS Office Of Emergency Management & Homeland Security in Albany.
Deb lived a life full of energy, curiosity, and unmistakable personality. A proud and devoted New England Patriots fan, she rarely missed a game and held season tickets for years—cheering her team on with a passion that everyone around her felt. Her career in emergency management reflected that same dedication; whether responding to a disaster or working inside the Emergency Operations Center, she was steady, capable, and fully committed to keeping others safe. At home, Deb found joy in the simple things: tending to her beloved plants, keeping fresh basil growing year-round, watching the Weather Channel with genuine interest, and tracking gusty afternoons with her trusty wind meter. She loved sunshine—especially tanning at the beach or poolside on bright summer days—and some of her happiest moments were spent fishing off Long Island, betting the ponies at Saratoga or enjoying fresh seafood, especially clams.
Deb also had a wonderful gift for bringing people together. She was famous for cooking for a crowd, whether rolling her well-loved meatballs, making the backup turkey or roasting a big piece of meat to feed family and friends. Her sarcasm, wit, and good sense of humor made her unforgettable in every room she entered. Yet her greatest joy came from her roles at home: being a proud Nemo to her cherished grandchildren, and being a loving, steady, and ever-present mom. These were the titles she held closest to her heart, and the ones she lived out most beautifully.
In addition to her daughter and grandchildren, survivors include her son-in-law Taylor Lyon; brothers Dan (Marguerite) Gualtieri and Mark (Miriam) Gualtieri; in-laws Jack Halkowich, Stephen (Colleen) Bullock, Edward (Maureen) Bullock, and Barbara (Kenneth) Moore; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her late husband and parents, Deb is predeceased by her sisters Linda Halkowich and Nancy Gualtieri; mother and father-in-law James and Dorothea Bullock; and brother-in-law Kenneth Bullock.
