BARBARA A. RYAN

LATHAM - Our dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Barbara A Ryan, 86, of Latham and Lake Placid, FL passed away on January 12, 2026, in Sebring, FL with her loving husband, daughter, and son-in-law by her side. Barbara will forever be remembered for her competitive spirit and could often be found playing cards or bingo. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family.

Barbara was born on February 6,1939 and raised in Green Island NY. She was a graduate of Heatly High School. She was a retiree of the NYS Board of Education Department where she dedicated twenty-five years to her career as a secretary.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years George P. Ryan, her four children: Colleen (Michael) Wheaton, G. David (Cheryl) Ryan, Eric (Michelle) Ryan, and Todd (Colleen Greene) Ryan; her thirteen grandchildren whom she cherished: Melissa, George David, Justin, Alecia, Jennifer, Kevin, Nathan, Michael, Adam, Tonya, Mark, Brittany, Kaylee; and her eighteen great grandchildren (plus one more on the way!). Barbara is also survived by many nieces and nephews and was very thankful for the relationship she shared with her niece Shawn (Randy) Coryer.

She is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Leora (Grenier) Wade; and her siblings, Charles, John, Richard, and William Wade, Joan Forcucci, Marion Halek and Marjorie Norris.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham.

Funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, 10:30 AM at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd., Latham, with Reverend Kyle Gorenski, celebrant. Interment and Rite of Committal to immediately follow the mass at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy.
