Sandra C. Kiepura Obituary

LOUDONVILLE - Sandra Conrad Kiepura, 78, passed away peacefully at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in Manhattan, surrounded by her family, on December 26, 2025.

Born on August 31, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Conrad and Marion Commerford Conrad. Sandra is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Frank C. Kiepura. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her cherished son Frank C. Kiepura Jr., and his wife Marlene of Manhattan; her brother John C. Conrad and his wife Bernadette of Stuyvesant; and her sister-in-law Dana Kiepura of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Sandra is also survived by and was proud of her nephew John C. Conrad (Linda) and their children, John, Ethan and Adam; and niece Lisa B. Guerriero (Robert) and their children, Benjamin and Elizabeth.

Sandra graduated from St. John's Academy High School in 1965 and the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 1969. After marrying and having her son, Sandra commenced an over 30- year career for the State of New York Commission on Cable Television and the State of New York Public Service Commission, finally retiring in 2003.

From a young age, Sandra was an avid outdoor enthusiast. Throughout her lifetime, she enjoyed skiing in Vermont, hiking in the Adirondacks, ice skating and riding horses. She instilled her love of skiing in her son, often taking him on ski trips to Vermont.

Sandra was tireless and incredibly competent. She was indispensable to her husband's tax practice and the person who modernized and upgraded the computer systems that operated the practice, often working well into the morning hours. Just as important was her contribution to business decisions and, later, her responsibility for the couple's real estate transactions. After retirement, she was able to donate more time to community and charitable causes as an officer and director of Shaker Heritage, the Pruyn House, and especially her beloved Greater Loudonville Association. She was referred to as a "pillar" of the Greater Loudonville Association and was instrumental in the creation of The Loudon Green Park.

Most importantly, however, was her tremendous sense of fairness and justice, her steadfastness in standing up for what is right, and her love for all creatures great and small.

One story that sums her up best – while crossing a bridge driving home from work one day, she noticed a young boy, 5 or 6 years old, clinging to rigging rising from the bridge deck. She stopped the car, climbed the rigging and rescued the child. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those who knew her…
