Nancy G. Dauphinais Obituary

LATHAM – Nancy G. (Fera) Dauphinais, 92, beloved wife of the late Michael A. Dauphinais, Sr., passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, November 10th, 2025 at the Teresian House in Albany.

Born September 7, 1933 in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas E. and Rose A. (Jannicelli) Fera. She was a 1951 graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy. While roller skating at Guptill's Arena in Latham, Nancy met the man she would fall in love with and eventually marry. Nancy & Mike were married on June 29, 1957 and enjoyed 50 loving years of marriage before his passing in December 2007.

Nancy worked as a stenographer at New York Telephone on State Street in Albany from 1951 to 1959 before devoting herself to raising her family. In 1960, she and Mike moved to Latham into the first and only house they ever owned, one that would become the loving home for them and their six children. She returned to work in 1984 and spent 9 years as a Unit Control Clerk for Sears, Roebuck & Co.'s Northeast Regional Offices in Colonie. She also spent several years working as a Typist in the Colonie Town Clerk's Office.

Nancy was a devoted Catholic and dedicated parishioner of St. Ambrose Church in Latham and over the years participated in Parish Counsel, Altar Rosary Society, Young at Heart Club and was an office volunteer. She was an enthusiastic fan and supporter of Latham Little League for many years. Nancy truly cherished her time spent with her beloved cousin Lois, whether on a road trip with the kids or taking a family drive to Vermont to spend it with the "country cousins", the laughter seemed to never end. She also very much enjoyed bowling, bingo, and talking to anyone who said hello to her; she so loved to meet new people in the aisles of Price Chopper.

Nancy is survived by her adoring children, Alida Robert of Rensselaer, Michael (Karen) Dauphinais, Jr. and Marytheresa (Jeff Stedge) Galante, both of Latham, Nicholas (Crystal) Dauphinais of Georgetown, TN, David (Kristen) Dauphinais of Grand Forks, ND and Matthew Dauphinais of Gansevoort.

Nancy was so proud of her family and leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is pre-deceased by her sister Rosemarie Neidich and grandchildren Jessica Robert and James Galante, Jr.

Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 9:30 to 10:30am at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY

Calling hours will be followed by the Mass of Christian Burial and internment beside her beloved Mike at St. Mary's cemetery in Troy, NY.

The family would like to express their most sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at the Teresian House for all the care and support they have shown Nancy over the past several years.
