Jeannine Barbara LaRose Obituary

Jeannine Barbara LaRose  (Vetoich), 82, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, in Guilderland, New York. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Jeannine lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and unwavering faith.

Born on February 4, 1943, in Troy, New York, Jeannine was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Claire W. Vetoich. She grew up in the Capital Region and graduated from Watervliet High School before pursuing her passion for beauty and style at Colonna Beauty School in Albany. Her education led to a fulfilling career as a hairdresser that spanned over five decades. Jeannine brought joy and confidence to countless clients through her work—her chair was not only a place for transformation but also for conversation and connection.

Jeannine’s life was deeply rooted in service—to her family, her community, and her faith. As a military wife stationed at Loring Air Force Base in Maine with her beloved husband Henry, she embraced the challenges of military life with grace and resilience. Upon returning to Latham, NY together they built a loving home filled with warmth and laughter.

A longtime member of Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Latham, New York, Jeannine found strength and purpose in her faith. She was an active participant in parish life as a member of the funeral choir and a member of the Latham-Colonie Columbiettes. Her presence at charitable events was always marked by generosity and compassion.

Jeannine cherished time spent with her family above all else. She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Henry G. LaRose; her daughter Andrea Goodale and son-in-law Colin Goodale; her son Kevin LaRose; and her treasured grandsons Ian Goodale and Kyle Goodale. Her love for them was boundless and evident in every moment shared together.Jeannine is also survived by her brother-in-law John (Lynn) LaRose and sister-in-law Sarah (Richard) Bremer and by many cousins and close friends, especially Regina Favata and Nancy Pascale.

Outside of work and family life, Jeannine found joy in simple pleasures. She had a green thumb and loved gardening—nurturing flowers as tenderly as she did relationships. Her home-cooked meals were legendary among those fortunate enough to gather around her table. She enjoyed bowling with friends and found peace by the ocean’s edge—especially on Cape Cod, Surf Side Beach, and at Ocean City, Maryland—where she delighted in beach days filled with sun and serenity.

The Family is extremely grateful to both the staff at Samaritan Hospitals PCU floor and at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center for the wonderful care Jeannine received during her recent illness. Jeannine’s legacy is one of quiet strength, enduring love, and selfless giving. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
