James Arthur Cazavilan Obituary

JAMES A. CAZAVILAN


LOUDONVILLE - James Arthur Cazavilan, 78 of Loudonville, husband of Janet Calise-Cazavilan (Deceased), passed away June 29th, 2025 at Shaker Place Nursing Facility after a strong 5-year bout with Multiple Myeloma.


Born in Springfield, MA on October 7th, 1946, he was the son of the late Guido and Mildred (Bostic) Cazavilan. James was the owner and operator of Allegra Design Marketing and Printing in Albany from 1999-2017 alongside his wife Janet.


James was the Troop 78 Scout Master from 2000 to 2009 operating out of St. Pius X Church. James served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1974, where he served with distinction in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged from the Army as a 1st Lieutenant. James earned his master's degree in corporate finance from NYU in 1969 and his undergraduate degree in accounting from Babson College 1967.


James is survived by his two sons: Christopher J. Cazavilan of Brooklyn, NY and Evan J. Cazavilan of Missoula, MT, as well as his siblings: Debra J. Santaniello (Erwin) of Springfield MA and two nieces: Julie (Jason) and daughters: Claire and Vivian of St. Augustine FL and Lindsey (Jason) and sons Connor and Owen of Springfield MA.


James was loved dearly by his friends and family.


Friends and relatives are invited to memorial services on Friday, July 11th, 2025 at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville. Visitation beginning at 10am followed by funeral mass at 11am. Military honors will be rendered following the mass.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jim's memory to the High and Mighty Therapeutic Riding and Driving Center, Inc. 71 County Route 21C, Ghent, NY 12075; www.high-n-mighty.org/donate/, a charitable organization which provides equine and carriage riding programs and experiences for mentally and physically challenged children and adults.
