Gary L. Reynolds Obituary

LOUDONVILLE - Gary Lee Reynolds, 77, of Loudonville, New York, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025 surrounded by family. Born on January 31, 1948, in Burbank, California, Gary was the beloved son of the late Edgar and Alvera Reynolds of Fairbury, Nebraska. He was raised on the family farm just outside of Fairbury and graduated from Fairbury High School in 1966. He then went on to study at the University of Nebraska.

Gary shared 39 wonderful years of marriage, and is survived by his wife, Joanne (Carusone) Reynolds. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Prellwitz (Mike) of Hebron, Nebraska; his children, Dawn Morehouse (Marc) and Ryan Reynolds (Jennifer); and his stepdaughters, Lori Feinman (Judd) and Stacy Kirkey. He is the proud grandfather to Alexa, Justin, and Lindsay Feinman, the late Jared W. Kirkey, Alyssa Morehouse, and Jacob and Nathan Reynolds. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Reynolds, and his mother- and father-in-law, Mary and Pat Carusone.

In 1984, Gary moved east to continue a career in the restaurant industry. He and Joanne went on to open a small business on Lark Street, MMMuffins and More, which grew to include Lexy's Eatery & Catering Emporium at the Knickerbocker Arena (now MVP Arena) in 1991. They both cherished the many friendships they formed through the business and fondly remembered Sinatra, The Rolling Stones, and the five-day Grateful Dead tours as some of their favorite times in the shop.

Gary always talked of his deep love for the Rocky Mountains. He also loved the Denver Broncos. He adored and patiently chased after his very social dog Winston, his faithful companion until Winston's passing in 1997. For many years, he enjoyed both the challenges and solace in tending his large home vegetable garden, providing Joanne with countless pots of homemade sauce and gifting friends and family with a bounty of fresh produce. Gary also loved playing golf, vacationing in Florida, and spending time with his family. A true cheeseburger enthusiast, he was never far from a McDonald's or Five Guys (which he proudly tracked down in Madrid, Spain).

Gary's family would like to thank Dr. Ravilla and staff, particularly Avital at NYOH.

Per Gary's wishes, services will be private. Those wishing to honor Gary's memory in a special way may make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/donate.
