Obituary of Rose M. Barney
ROSE M. BARNEY
LATHAM - Rose M. Barney, 84, of Latham, beloved wife of 65 years to Francisco A. Barney, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 3rd, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Cohoes, on December 28, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John and Emma (Schreck) Dorr. Rose married her husband Francisco A. Barney on September 24th, 1955.
Rose was a graduate of Cohoes High school class of 1954. She worked as a Senior Clerk for the Claims Department of the NYS Lottery in Schenectady for many years.
Rose was a communicant of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Latham. She also was a member of the Italian Community Center in Troy as well as the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192
Rose was an avid bowler and loved traveling, cooking, camping in the Adirondacks, and spending quality time with her family and friends who she cherished dearly.
Survivors include husband Francisco A. Barney, children Tina (Kenneth) Dodge, Laurie (William) Murtaugh, Luigi Barney, Dario (Paula) Barney, Valerie (Jeffrey) Levine, and Linda Mazza, and brothers John (Mary) Dorr and Fritz Dorr. Also survived by grandchildren Torie (Robert) Blake, Sarah (Max) Samu, Holly Dodge, step grandchildren Stephanie Bayer and Gerry Cocran, great-grandchildren Makayla Blake, Brianna Blake, Jack Samu, and Penny Samu, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Rose is predeceased by her sisters Gisela Bachinsky and Dolores Serwansky
The family would especially like to thank Eileen and Steve of Community Hospice for their care and support.
Funeral services will be private as per the wishes of Rose and her family.
Private inurnment will take place in the Columbarium Wall of the Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
