Obituary of Dominic Carmelo Gerace

DOMINIC CARMELO GERACE Latham- Dominic Carmelo Gerace, 91 of Latham, beloved husband of JoAnn Platania Gerace, entered into eternal life on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Shaker Place. Born in Albany on September 4, 1929, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Harvie) Gerace. He married his beloved JoAnn Platania on June 22, 1963 and the two have shared a beautiful marriage of over 57 years. Dominic served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1952. He was employed as a Home School Coordinator, by the Albany City School District for many years. Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving son Joseph Gerace, his cherished grandchildren Destiny Tribley, Manny Tribley, Madison Tribley and Anastasia Gerace and great grandson Landyn Tribley his son-in-law Douglas Tribley. He was predeceased by his daughter Marianne Tribley, brothers Michael Gerace and John Gerace. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday February 23, 2021 at 10:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Brian Kelly officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
