My family have relied on Jerry for our cars since we moved in 1975. Over the years, Jerry's kindness and character have impressed each of us as we continued to support his business. We all felt Jerry's support and the benefit of his character. There have been many recent losses in my own family, that I understand the pain this wonderful family must be experiencing. Our family grieves with you. Much prayers

Our condolences to the Buff family for the too soon passing of Jerry. I and most of my family relied on Jerry and eventually his sons to keep our cars running. It started when Jerry was working for his brother at the station and pumping gas among his duties. Jerry oversaw one of the most honest car businesses, which is why I turned to him for over 40 years with any car trouble.
Yes, the whistling was his trademark. Whenever I passed his service station I listened for his whistle, smiled and knew everything was fine. Everyone who knew Jerry knows that he was a man of few words which is probably why I made it a point to find something to talk to him about. I was shocked to find out about Jerry’s passing and he will be missed. Jerry will always be in my thoughts especially when I pass his service station even without hearing his whistling.

Bev and family- Everyone talks about Jerry and remembering his whistle, but I have different memories of him. He was one of the best brothers a little sister could ask for. Jerry was always there for me, from being a Godfather to Jessica to escorting me in to Owen and Nick’s weddings. He never said “no” to me over anything. In the back of his mind, I’m sure once or twice he said oh boy especially when it came to my older model cars. Research says in 1947, the year he was born, the cost of a new car was $2,000. My current car I got from him was just that! Then there was the blizzard on 10/4/87........who came and picked me up in a tow truck so I could celebrate my birthday? It was him! Once again never saying “no.” Then there’s the smile I remember when I would bring him Hofman’s Snappers. He definitely didn’t say “no” to them! Lastly, the sweatshirt with the broken zipper he retrieved from Bev’s trash......I replaced the zipper and he immediately put it on and with a smile said, “I can’t wait to get home and show Beverly!”
Just know that I love you all and thank you for being an excellent wife and sons to my brother!
Love,
Bop

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Jerry was such a wonderful person. He was always kind and would go above and beyond to help anyone. My father, Matt Chludzinski (big Matt) introduced me to Jerry and his smile and always whistling a happy tune, in 1973. My entire family has used his garage’s services ever since. Jerry will be missed greatly. Rest In Peace my friend.
With much sympathy,
Bernie Doring

The Buff family,
I'm sorry to read about Jerry's passing. I knew Jerry thru Marty who is married to my sister Sue. I also knew Jerry thru their different garages to get my vehicle serviced. We will keep him in our prayers and may Jerry rest in peace.

There are many things I remember about Uncle Jerry however I most remember him for his whistling. Whenever thinking of him, the sound of him whistling is what comes to the forefront of my brain and brings on a slow smile of contentment. Although my ears will no longer hear him whistling, my memory still hears it loud and clear. My deepest sympathy is with you Aunt Bev and all my Cousins. I am sorry for your loss.

Jerry was a great brother in the Buff family.. He always had an answer for whatever you said or not. He might not have agreed with you but he always accepted it with a smile on his face. You would think he had the votes from either side with him and he usually just smiled and shook his head sometimes from side to side and at times up and down. He should have run for a public office and did not matter what side he on he would have won. NO CONTEST? He was a special brother, husband , father and a good all around man. If u want to remember in a special way when u hear a whistle u will think of good memories of him. Lou and Kathleen We will love u forever!

How do you say thank you to someone who never thought he was doing or being anything special. Jerry, you were so special, a great man, and will always remain special in my heart. I have many many memories, my most special memory , a day I dropped off a car that needed something fixed. He comes out from the garage to welcome me, holding this cup of coffee. He raises it up proudly, its a “precious moments” cup. Still in use, stained with a million cups of coffee. Glued back together from a million pieces. he shows it proudly and says “Bev, 8th grade”
50 years later seems like yesterday whenever you pull into the lot! He loved his work, loved serving his customers , but you always knew, his family was why he did all of it. How ill miss him. But he has left his hard work in great hands....i am deeply sorry for his Kids, their families, and his wife, Bev. RIP Jerry. You certainly have earned it, but gone too early. Prayers and hugs to you all

Jerry, from the time we were little tykes to today he was my best friend. Always sharing bedrooms he was the perfect playmate, that is until he discovered cars and more importantly Beverly. He and his family warmly embraced me when Rosemary died. I'll miss our weekly coffee(or more like mud) on Thursday at the station. I loved him dearly as I do Bev and his whole family.
