FRANCIS "FRANK" T. MURPHY
Clifton Park- Francis "Frank" T. Murphy, 61 of Clifton Park, entered into eternal life on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at St. Peter's Hospital, in Albany.
Born in Troy, on January 25, 1959, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Marilyn R. (Campbell) Murphy. Frank was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park.
Frank was especially proud of earning the rank of Eagle Scout as a high school sophomore as well as his membership in the Sigma Chi Fraternity while attending Union College. He earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics at Union where he also played on the soccer team. Frank was an avid coin collector and a diehard fan of the New York Mets.
He was the Technical Leader of the Communicable Disease and Electronic Surveillance System for Health Research, Inc. at the New York State Department of Health in Albany for many years.
Survivors include his loving siblings Colleen A. (John) Lennon, Maureen M. (John) Spence, Thomas J. (Alexandra) Murphy Jr. and Kathleen S. (Richard) Ahl, his cherished nieces and nephews Kristen (Doug) Lennon-McMahan, Robert Alexson, Matthew (Jon) Castine, Erin Spence, Bryan Spence, Thomas Ahl, and Allison Ahl.
Frank's mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Patrick Butler on Wednesday September 2, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Edward the Confessor, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday September 1, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Due to COVID restriction and guidelines masks and social distancing will be required in the funeral home and church.
Interment will follow mass at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Rubin Dialysis Center 21 Crossings Blvd. Clifton Park NY 12065 or the Eddy Visiting Nurse and Rehab Kathy Buffaline Fund, 433 River St. Suite 3000, Troy, NY 12180.
