Obituary of Michael J. Allen Sr.

MICHAEL J. ALLEN SR. Latham-Michael J. Allen Sr., 59 of Latham, beloved husband of Julia Nolan Allen, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at his home in Latham. Born in Niskayuna on May 30, 1960, he was the son of the late David P. and Marian (Hess) Allen. He married his beloved Julia Nolan on November 27, 1981. Mike was a lifelong resident of Latham. He worked as Senior Maintenance at LaSalle School in Albany for over 32 years retiring in 2015. Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children Sara (Kevin) Carey, Emily (Mark) Wood, Jessica (Vincent) Pascale, Theresa Allen, Michael (Paige) Allen Jr. and Patrick (Eleni Papadopoulos) Allen, his siblings David (Cindy) Allen Jr. and Patricia (Michael) Carey, his cherished grandchildren Amanda, Carlee, Benjamin, Luca, Claire, Zoey and Vincent, his mother-in-law Geraldine Nolan, sisters in law Mary Eileen Ruggiero, Erin Nolan and Colleen (Dan) Randall, his best friend Scott (Lena) VanWinkle and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday February 17, 2020 at 10:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Brian Kelly, pastor officiating. . Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday February 16, 2020 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
