PEGGY CAROLINE DERKSEN SCHENECTADY - Peggy Caroline Derksen, 86 of Schenectady, beloved wife of the late Bob Derksen, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Schenectady, NY on February 15, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Alexandra (Adach) Maul. Peggy and Bob shared 38 beautiful years of marriage before his passing in 2003. Survivors include her children Todd (Kimberly) Derksen, Audrey (Frank) Derksen-Parisi, and Robert (Karen) Derksen, her cherished grandchildren Victoria, Tyler, Kyle, Amanda, Gabriella, Brooke, Faith, and Gabriel, as well as her sister Susan Kownack. In addition to her parents and late husband Peggy is predeceased by her son Daniel Derksen and brother Raymond Maul. Peggy devoted her life to her family and they were what brought her the most joy in this world. She will be forever missed and cherished by those who knew and loved her. Her dedication to her family and the love she shared with them will forever be held close in their hearts. A heart of gold and her willingness to care for others is what made her the best Mom and Bobci a family could ever ask for. Even through her struggles later in life Peggy continued to put the needs of those she cared for and loved before her own. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, November 1, 2021 from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. A prayer service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am with Rev. Pat Butler officiating. Peggy will be laid to rest beside her husband and son at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
