Obituary of Marion G. Kardas

MARION G. KARDAS Latham- Marion G. Kardas, 88, of Latham, beloved wife of the late John J. Kardas, passed away suddenly on Monday November 2, 2015 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Born in Schenectady on December 26, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Sr. and Florence (Shartrand) Danby. Marion was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, John J. Kardas, in 2010. Marion was employed by General Electric in Schenectady from 1946-1953. She worked as a Sales Clerk at Northeast Ceramics in Troy for 20 years, before retiring in 1988. Marion was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham and a member of the Young at Heart Club. She loved baking for her family and friends as well as crocheting blankets for newborn babies and local animal shelters. Marion is survived by her loving children: Mark Frederick Kardas of Latham, Barbara Ann Kardas of New York City, and Elaine (David) Beauchamp of Latham; her cherished grandson: Shane John Beauchamp as well as her siblings: Florence Bradley of San Jose, CA, and Eva Andrews of Albany, her sister-in-law Lorraine Kardas and brothers-in-law Frank Kardas and Albert Novotny, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant daughter Lynn Marie Kardas and brother Frederick C. Danby Jr., Marion's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday November 7 at 9:00 am at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. John Cairns officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday November 6, 2015 from 5:00 til 7:00 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham Interment will take place at Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum, Niskayuna.
