GERALD V. RAYBALL Watervliet- Gerald V. Rayball, 80 of Watervliet, passed away on Saturday December 22, 2007 at the Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lowell Ma., on April 16, 1927 he was the son of Michael & Anne (Wall) Rayball. He was married in 1948 to the love of his life Ellen (Moss) Rayball. Gerry is preceded in death by his brother Leo Rayball and his grandson Derek Nolan. Gerry maintained a close and loving relationship with his eight children who he proudly referred to as the Great 8. He was a graduate of St. Patricks Boys School & Keith Academy for Boys in Lowell, MA. After graduation he immediately began a 6 year apprenticeship in the printing industry with the Courier Citizen Corp. He was on the last group of men to learn the trade before automation. He advanced to supervisory positions and was made manager of an auxiliary plant in New Haven Ct. and after many years later in Latham. He retired after 40 years of service. Immediately following his retirement he enjoyed living in his seaside home in Marshfield, Ma., later moving to Boynton Beach, Fla., where he maintained a home for 20 years. He returned to the Latham area in 2003 to be closer to his loving children. Gerry was proud to be Irish, as well as a lifelong Red Sox & Notre Dame fan. During his retirement he traveled extensively with his close friends and family, but mostly enjoyed a Rayball clan gathering. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Ellen; sons: Michael & wife Janice Rayball of Watervliet, William & wife Joanne of Ballston Lake, Martin & wife Giselle of Rochester, Patrick & wife Barbara of Grapevine, TX.,; Daughters; MaryEllen Federici & husband Marty of Latham, Eileen LaMora & husband Edward of Latham, Robin Nolin of Clifton Park, Sheila Ricketts & husband Daniel of Flower Mound, TX. 19 cherished grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Sister-in-law Murielle Rayball and nieces Sharon Rayball and Patricia Rayball of Latham. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday December 27 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of The Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham, where Gerrys Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Geoffrey Burke Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham on Wednesday December 26 from 4-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Gerrys honor to the Our Lady of the Assumption Building Fund.
