Obituary of James K. Maloney

Troy- James K. Maloney, 76 of Troy, beloved husband of the late Josephine Karwoski Maloney, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at his residence. Born in Troy on July 9, 1931, he was the son of the late John F. and Julia (Bishop) Maloney Sr. Jim was raised in Troy and attended Troy High School, then he resided in Latham for over 20 years, before returning to Troy 5 years ago. He was a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192 and the Colonie K of C #3394. Jims favorite pastimes included playing cards and shooting a game of pool. He was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church. Jim at one time was employed as a Laborer for the NYS Office of General Services in Albany, a position from which he retired from. He is survived by his loving daughter Linda L. (Kenneth) Skaarup of Troy and his step children Lou Karwoski and Janet Andrus. Jim is also survived by his 4 cherished grandchildren Kenneth J. Skaarup Jr., Julie A. Skaarup, Eileen M. Skaarup and Debra J. Bristol, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will take place on Thursday at 9:00 from St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd., Latham where Jims Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday from 4-7 P.M. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. In lieu of flowers the family wishes for memorial contributions to be made in Jims name to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211.
