Obituary of Ronald W. Ballard

RONALD W. BALLARD COLONIE - Ronald W. Ballard, 64 of Colonie, passed away in peace on Monday, July 27, 2015 in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side. Born on August 10, 1950 in Johnson City, NY, he was the son of the late Charles and Lucille (Jobson) Ballard. Ron was married to the former Kathleen M. Martin on February 14, 1981 and the two shared 34 wonderful years of love and devotion prior to his passing. He proudly served in the United States Navy. Ron was a Telecommunications Technician for 35 years with Verizon in Menands, retiring in 2011. He was a dedicated volunteer at the Commission on Economic Opportunity in Troy where he also won the award of Volunteer of the Year in 2014. Ron was an avid New York Yankee fan. In addition to his beloved Kathy, he is survived by his loving daughter: Deanna Corbett of Latham, his cherished granddaughter: Amanda Sinisgalli as well as his siblings: David (Connie) Ballard, Dennis (Anita) Ballard, Danny (Terri) Ballard and Janet (Tom) Kanick all of Binghamton, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his canine friends Milo and Maddie. He is predeceased by his Sister: Pam Rosenkrans The family would like to thank the nurses at NYOH and Community Hospice of Rensselaer County for the care and concern they gave toward Ron. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 10:00 - 11:00 am at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am immediately following the visitation at the church with Fr. Francis Dubois officiating. In lieu of flowers the family wishes for memorial contributions to be made in Ron's memory to C.E.O., 2328 5th Avenue, Troy NY 12180 or to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Road, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
